Michelle Kissler - Owner, Director, and Head Coach for Watkins Volleyball

Art of Coaching Certified Beach Volleyball Coach

Michelle has been playing volleyball for over 23 years. She played for Strasburg High School and helped lead the team to a 5th-place finish at the 3A State tournament in 2006. She was ranked 2nd in the Rocky Mountain News—Best of the Best list 2006. She was named first-team All-State in 2005 and 2006 and was All-State Honorable Mention in 2004. (Shout out to Coach Larry Deffenbaugh!)

She played right-side hitter/ middle blocker for the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, in 2007. This was the first year UCCS ever qualified for the NCAA Division II tournament.

After taking a break from volleyball for a few years, Michelle discovered sand volleyball while living in Kansas City, KS for work. Upon returning to her home state of Colorado, Michelle started playing Coed 4x4 at the Island in Aurora and soon after began playing Women’s 2x2. She qualified for the Colorado Winter Beach Series – Queen of the Beach Main Draw in 2019. Her growth and success in this sport is a reflection of those who have taken the time to coach and develop her. (Thank you to Kris Bredeholft, Dave Smith, Ray Reyes, Skylar del Sol, and Brad Johnson.)

Michelle has coached indoor girls 6x6 club and beach 2x2 volleyball for the last four years and excited to bring this game to her hometown community.
